A long week...

Yeah it's Friday! I never really wish the days away but this week I am glad to see the end of. It's been so busy that I have been exhausted from start to finish. The start of the madness began with a 5am start on Monday trying to get a mountain of paperwork completed. I tried to squeeze in a grocery shop only to come home & discover that my dress was inside out due to a hastily had shower prior to running out the door in order to fit the outing in to my hectic schedule! It has ended with the school run this morning (usually taken by car) being taken on foot due to a flat battery on my car...thank you child #3 for leaving the interior light on! So to the end of this week I say thankyou & to the 6 little girls who are running around, playing & giggling at my house I say thankyou for the lightness, to my dear friends with whom I will meet with this evening I say thankyou but most of all to my darling husband for putting up with my ranting this morning & coming to rescue & calm me I say the biggest THANK YOU. Tooth Extraction

There is nothing more annoying than a loose tooth...this one took 5 months from first wobble to simply falling out when Big Girl was brushing this morning!

Now she looks the part... a school kid!

1985 Sunwagon Pop Up Van

I am sooooooo excited! This is what we have just purchased & hopefully get to pick up on the weekend.

We're hoping this year to get away more than once like last years effort at 'family time' so hopefully we'll be playing cards in the annex in a couple of weeks somewhere not too far travelled but still experiencing that 'get away' feeling & having some quality family fun together. Do you have any suggestions as to where we could go...

Book Launch

I had the amazing oportunity to be a part of handmade living. A beautiful publication that features all things handmade. So, as I could not attend the market held by handmade canberra I decided to have my own little book launch at home.

Loads of wonderful customers & also some of my very dearest friends came along. I feel so fortunate to have these wonderful women in my life & thank every day the times & experiences we share together. They have not only supported me but also advised me on the path that I have taken with Three Potato Four & all my handmade goods. Thank you!

A beautiful Festive Season & hello to all for 2011

It still seems quite strange to write 2011 as the date, I always think of the program that was on the 80's (I think) called "Beyond 2000" & how they looked at the future. We still are not driving around in flying cars yet!

We have had the most delightful Christmas & New Year. Many friends to share it with & also some special time spent with our wonderful family. We had a week on the Farm at Poppy & Nanna Kerryns which was super relaxing even though we always try to fit too much into such a short time, the things we did manage to fit in were worth it.

I'm looking forward to a creative 2011 & hope that you'll enjoy the journey with me.

French Market Baskets

My very good friend is a Phoenix Card Consultant & as Part of the Butterfly Tea Party Fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation she asked me to donate a prize for the event. As my sewing machine has been getting fixed I had to think outside the square & decided to create a lining for my French Market Baskets which I have been wanting to do for sometime....here's the gorgeous (I think) result!

Three Potato Four Junior. x

My big girl amazes me. She has recently taken an interest in my sewing & after a quick demo she's taken to it. She's happy to use all my fabric scraps & create! It's such a nice way to spend some time together. Occasionally when I offer for just Big Girl & I to do something together most of the time her response is "can we stay home & do craft together" although occasionally it's "let go shopping Mum, just you & me". No matter what I love the fact that she shares an interest with me & we can just do together.

Who knows...one day soon we'll be sharing a site at a market! Actually she has done her own lucky dips at a few markets before or sold bags of lollies & even if traffic is slow, no one can resist that gorgeous smile & sweet eyes...I know they melt my heart. x

Facination with Feet...

My big girl was invited to a PJ party on Friday night & she was most concerned about going out of the house in her slippers! It was a very funny experience for her & not the norm but alas she left the house with a bounce in her step....& arrived home full of sugar!!!!

Then this afternoon we decided to plant out the small spaces next to our newly laid driveway. The kids choice was a mandarin tree, my choice to move the existing lemonade tree that wasn't happy in it's current position & man about the house requested a lime as Corona tastes better with lime! We also transplanted two Orange Blossoms from the back to the front.

But the feet came into it when we started to get everything ready & Middle Miss thought the patch of concrete next to the driveway was set...well it wasn't & the result, her favourite sparkly sneakers were covered & Middle Miss was very embarrassed!

Friday..

I started this morning with a vision & that was that I was to do no house work & utterly NO paperwork & thus far I have nearly achieved it! Only 2 loads of washing to my credit on the domestic chores & that has been plenty enough. I have managed to finally create my world on madeit & have posted some of my new dress designs...you must pop over & take a look.

I have also had my first Mum's Business sale on Mel Quick's site Green Goat! She has some fantastic kids products, well worth a visit to her online store!

In anticipation...

Our extension began late 2009 & we're getting close to completion if only some tradesman would turn up to finish the job....the floors are to be polished tomorrow yet the plasterers are turning up very sporadically! Hopefully we'll be in within 4-5 weeks & I think thats being generous.

The entry from the front door looking through to the existing part of the house.

The office

Craft space, picture taken from the office corner (it's one big room with two seperate areas)

The bathroom which opens out onto the pool (this photo is of the shower wall & the full wall is where the WC is...all open to the world! A window is on the left hand side where my bath will run along....DID I say my bath? Good because that's what it is! ALLL MINE!)

Anzac Day

I'm a little behind the eight ball but after downloading my camera & just feeling so proud of my big girl I thought I just had to post these pictures. She marched as proud as punch with my father in law. Middle Miss wasn't too keen on marching this year & took advantage of a birds eye view on daddy's shoulders.

After a lovely service she had a nice lunch with Nanna whilst the servicemen took to the RSL for a beer & 2 up! I went home with the littlest for some much needed sleep (for her) but I'm sure she'll be marching next year.

Special times...

I love spending time with the girls, especially where they can roam free & enjoy the simple things. A visit to the local botanic gardens is such a special place for us. The girls call it the jungle as there are so many places for them to explore. Nell x

Weddings are always so....

My girls were thrilled at the opportunity to attend the wedding of some very special friends. Middle Miss was sure she was to carry a bouquet of flowers as that's what you do at weddings & would you believe there was an extra one ordered by mistake & she was able to have her very own floral arrangement. It was the most beautiful garden wedding at my Dad's house, so the kids were able to relax, ride their bikes & dance the afternoon away. The food was delicious & the company even better, it's always nice to spend time with family that you don't get to see often.

A little bit of sewing...

Here's my latest creation for the girls. A simple dress that looks so good....
